Ropes and Rigging

Bosun's is a fully equipped rigging shop, with a rigger on staff. We offer splicing, swaging and nicro pressing both in shop and mobile. We build new life lines, halyards, and standing rigging. We specialize in performance rope running rigging in spectra and vectran. We also custom build any form of rope and/or wire halyards. We can offer a variety of different hardware and wire, including:

Do you know when to replace your rigging?
Here's a couple points to consider:

  • It's time to replace your rigging if after an inspection you turn up any major problems. Check out the article in the sidebar for inspection help, or have us come do it!
  • Most boat surveyor's recommend replacing your rigging every 10 years - at least - in temperate areas
  • Are you racing your boat? Sailing it hard? If so, you should have your rig inspected more frequently.
  • If you're coming/returning to northern climes from tropical areas, it's time to have your rigging inspected. This is due to the effect temperature has upon it.
